Seattle for Bernie Sanders

Seattle for Bernie Sanders

This is Patti, the admin…

Yesterday I felt guarded, I felt defensive, I was disappointed… and today I listened. I will not paraphrase the sentiment of BLM because I have no right to speak for others. That’s what I learned today. Today, I listened.
I’ve been working so hard, I was in anticipation of Bernie’s speech at Westlake Park and I felt deflated and insulted by the interruption. But today I LISTENED.
Sometimes we don’t feel others, we have so much to do, so many struggles of our own, we want someone to listen to us, too. But we have to stop sometimes, especially when someone is screaming… ESPECIALLY WHEN SOMEONE IS SCREAMING and just… listen.
I share in everyone’s disappointment, but I encourage people to just stop and LISTEN. We must include all grassroots movements spanning a multitude of groups and become the party for all people… FOR ALL PEOPLE. This has been a great day for us as a movement and I believe this campaign will be stronger and unstoppable if we, along with our candidate, can just stop for moment and listen.
To quell some of the rumors; no these young women were not plants. They are not corporate sponsored antagonists. They do not work for the CIA. They do not work for Hillary.
I know this because I contacted the person who knows them and I asked. And then… I listened. She spoke at our monthly meeting which I feel was the most productive and inclusive meeting yet. Please, hear me when I call for peace. And I call for unity. And I ask for solidarity. We can win this. We really can. If we stop for a moment…
