I was talking to a friend about feeling depressed and they responded, “You don’t seem like a person that gets depressed.”
I know they meant well, but if felt like they were not only dismissing my feelings but also suggesting my negative feelings were somehow abnormal.
It needs to be said, negative feelings are normal.
