After being completely abandoned by NASA (decommission of the communications equipment in 1999), a 38 year old space probe is now under the control of a civilian non-profit. The new group’s aim is to return the probe to it’s original mission in an earth orbit and use it for further scientific research and educational outreach. Friggin cool!!!
